Position – Monster Sessions - Freelance Creative Content Writer

Monster Sessions is a US based music education platform that educates its students on the professional processes of the music industry through a series of hands-on in-studio classes.

Job Title:  Freelance Creative Content Writer

Pay:  $50 - $125 per article

The benefits of working in our job program: Monster Sessions interns will gain real world experience by participating in the day-to-day operations & activities in our office. Networking and learning from industry professionals, interns will be exposed to the broader music industry environment through our education & music management platforms

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Monster Sessions Creative Team to curate article topics that will drive the visibility and reputation of both Monster Sessions and Monster A&R

  • Regularly author content for articles and newsletters, as related to Monster Sessions and Monster A&R

  • Create content strategies for and with the Monster Sessions Creative Team

  • Within the general workflow, in-house style, and brand guidelines, work autonomously to meet targets and timelines

  • Implement content strategy, including helping to create the content calendar, produce the content and then scheduling across our website and social media

Position Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university or college (student)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Communications and/or related field

  • Ability to work remotely

  • Must have access to Skype/Zoom/Facetime for virtual team meetings

  • Experience editing web content, preferably with small-business focus

  • Proven ability to write clear, direct and compelling copy

  • High proficiency with Microsoft suite, grammar style guides, and online tools such as Grammarly

  • Ability to operate in a deadline-driven environment

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to self-manage time

  • Able to provide portfolios or samples of work to review

  • Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills

  • Teamwork mentality and willingness to assist wherever needed

  • Commit to 20 hours per week during the fall semester to an internship

  • Exceptional computer written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be available to travel 10 – 50 miles weekly
